I had kind of a "No!! Dont grow up so fast!!" moment at My Gym today. Jack now climbs all over the place now at My Gym and is scared of nothing there. Me?? I still walk behind him, waiting to catch him if he falls from the rock climbing wall. But, you know what?? He honestly does not want me there anymore. He doesn't want me helping him or reaching my hand out to catch him. He wants to do it on his own.
So, he was walking across this plank thing onto this crazy slide set and he leaned over to give the monkey painted on the wall a high five. There's just the slightest gap between the plank and the wall and he was putting his foot right in that gap. My instinct was to reach out and grab hold of his shirt so that he didn't fall in the gap. His instinct was to grab my hand and say "No mommy!! Stop!! Jack Jack!!" "Uh, son, I'm just doing my job. Keeping you from falling several feet onto the hard floor." And then it hit me - this is what it's going to be like for the rest of my life, isn't it??? Me - hanging on to him, trying to guide him and lead him and Jack - wanting to do it all on his own.

Okay, so I can just see Jack getting ready to step in that gap and saying "No Mommy, Jack Jack do it."
It is kind of sad to see how they have become independent. Thankfully, there are still a few things they need us to help them with. :)
Be so proud and amazed at the same time that God has given Jackson the quality of no fear and bravery!! He is going to use him in a might way!! love, KaKa
