Want to take a guess at what I paid for with that amount of money this morning?? Take a guess...

Gas!!! One tank of gas to fill up Lee's gas-guzzling monster of a car. I almost fainted when I turned around from talking to Jack and saw that amount on the screen of the gas tank. I have been driving Lee's car for several weeks now to help us save money on gas (he's driving my more fuel efficient car the 60 mile trip to and from work) but have not once filled up his tank. Probably b/c I have been too scared to see the price!!

Lee called earlier and said that some cities around us are out of gas for now and, since the Yukon was on empty, I needed to fill up today to make sure I wasn't stuck at home with no gas. I didn't play into the gas craziness before the hurricane hit Gavleston a few weeks ago and we were fine but I had 1/2 of a tank then and had none now.

Here's the bad part - we budgeted about $400 a month for gas. What that probably means is we will be going WAY over that budget with the amount of driving Lee has to do just to get to and from work (about 300 miles a week) or I will have to make this $100 tank of gas last me all month. Hmmm...looks like that Yukon will be parked in our driveway a lot for the next several months.

Oh well, off to clip some coupons and, hopefully, save money in other places.
