Celebration!!! Superhero Style

(Just as a forward - this blog is driving me crazy!!! The pictures upload in the wrong order and I cant upload videos. I am so frustrated!!)

Ok - now that I got that off my chest, we had an awesome time celebrating Jack's 4th birthday (just a little early) this past Saturday. We had a Superhero!! party, as requested by the birthday man himself. We did a mix of all the superhero stuff we could find - thanks to Mimi for shopping with me and helping me decide what to do.

Jack actually made the invite list - at first, he DID NOT want to invite girls to his party. He wanted a boy only party. But, we know so many sweet girls who have become good friends to him that he ended up inviting 3 of them. It was so special to him to see the friends he wanted to invite come to his house for his birthday party. He was so excited and talked about it all week long. Of course, he was a little confused about the fact that it wasn't his actual birthday - just his birthday party day but he forgot about that as soon as his guests arrived.

Big thanks to Brent for taking pictures - if it weren't for him we would have only had about 2. I completely forgot about the camera once the guests arrived and turned around halfway through the party to see Brent taking pictures. Thank you!! Here they are - in backwards order.

This was one of Jack's favorite presents - a Lego man head lamp. He wants to wear it all day. I'm a little worried about what happens when the light burns out.

This is how 4 year olds open presents - I learned. They all crowd around and "help" open presents while their parents constantly drag them away.

Jackson and Graysie in the superhero masks having a superhero conversation. Seriously, they stood like this for about 10 minutes having a little chat. Like how Jack is standing with his hands on his hips? I guess whatever he was talking about was pretty serious.

Cupcakes were a big hit - we just did homemade cupcakes with icing and Spiderman candies on top but kids and adults alike enjoyed them.

Jack (or Batman) blowing out his candles. He honestly didn't know what to do with everyone singing happy birthday to him. This was the first year he really noticed it was about him.

Pre-party. Jackson was so impressed with this $3.00 Spiderman cupcake holder we got for the cupcakes. "Wow, Mom, that looks so nice" he said several times. Sweet boy.

Jackson and his real superhero. He loves his Daddy so much and wants to do everything "just like Daddy",which is a very good thing b/c Lee is an amazing husband and Daddy.

Upload the photos in any order you want and then just copy and paste the HTML chunks it spits out in the order you want. That's all I do... and for video, check out vimeo. You can set up a free account and even password protect videos if you want. It makes them a little more private than YouTube. Then you can get the HTML embed code next the video and plop it in your blog entry. BTW, Jackson's adorable and we love keeping up with him!

Can't believe they all are going to be 4. Where in the world did the time go? We sure do miss getting to play with you guys and have you over, but we also know that God has you right where you are supposed to be for now.

Happy Birthday, Jack. We love you.
