Artwork, anyone??

Jackson has really gotten into his artwork lately. He loves to color, paint, use markers, pencils, glue, etc. He most recently requested using scissors (he actually requested these a while ago but I realized he was not totally ready for them when he almost chopped his finger off). I searched and searched everywhere for "toddler" scissors but could not find any so I decided to go ahead and let him use regular scissors. That is what he wanted to use anyways - he would have known right away that I was giving him "baby" scissors.

He did great!!!! Once I showed him how to hold them he was a pro! I have to sit with him to make sure he doesn't cut anything he shouldn't (clothing, fingers, hair) but I think he has heard me say "watch your fingers/clothes" or "dont put those near your hair" enough that he is pretty careful (of course, I know he is 4 and will do it the minute I turn my back so I still sit with him).

This was what he made today - doesn't it look like a house with a chimney??? I was so impressed!! I took pictures and just made the biggest deal about it! He cut and glued it all by himself. He was not as impressed with his own talent as I was. He actually told me it was not a house with a chimney but a robot with robot arms???? Guess it's artistic interpretation. I am still going to hang it on the fridge and call it a house with a chimney.

Oh, and those are the ever-present Batman sunglasses in the background. Most days, they go everywhere with us.
