SUPERHERO!!!

Jackson is obsessed with all things SUPERHERO! (that is how he says it - SUPERHERO!!). Batman, Spiderman, Superman, Mr. Incredible, Buzz Lightyear (he's in the superhero category because he flies, according to Jack) and Dash from the Incredibles (he has Dash underwear and likes him a lot b/c he is a big kid not an old kid, according to Jack). Now, he has never really seen any of these superheroes on TV or in movies (it's hard to find superhero stuff appropriate for an almost 4 yr old) yet he still talks about them day and night. Every day he has to decide which superhero he wants to be for the day (sometimes he changes superheroes during the day - several times. It's hard to keep up). A big part of our morning is spent talking about which superhero he should be.

Me: How about Superman? He flies...

Jack: No. What SUPERHERO! can I be?

Me: How about Spiderman?? The webs are pretty cool...

Jack: No. What SUPERHERO! can I be??

Me: How about Batman with his super-fast car??

Jack: No. What SUPERHERO! can I be??

And on it goes...through the whole list. I had to do a quick review of all of the SUPERHEROES! to be able to keep up with him. Fortunately, he took no interest in Iron Man or Aqua Man, which I knew nothing about.

He is super creative and changed his cape from a "knight in shining armor" cape to a SUPERHERO! cape and wears it all day long. We get plenty of "oh, how sweet comments" when we are out and he is wearing his cape, especially when it is paired with shorts and his green, froggy boots.

We are even planning a SUPERHERO! birthday party for him this year. He wants a Spiderman cake, Superman decorations and Dash party favors. We'll see if I can make this happen. I might have to be a SUPERHERO! to pull it off.
