We have been really blessed with our move to NC. Lee loves his job, the area is so family-friendly, lots of running and biking trails, we are starting to get settled in our church. Of course, we miss our friends back in SC but are just letting God use us here and are enjoying it.
One thing I didn't think I would enjoy about our move to NC was the beaches. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the beach and, growing up in SC, am just a little partial to SC beaches. Edisto, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Hilton Head - I dont care which one I love them all. And, in fact, we have been to SC beaches a few times since our move here but had yet to make it to a NC beach - even though it is just a really quick 2 hour drive. I guess I was being a beach snob - I didnt think we needed to try NC beaches b/c I would always be going to SC beaches.
Well, last weekend we packed up and headed to Wrightsville Beach and...I had a wonderful time!! It was such a nice beach and everyone has told us it is not even the nicest beach in NC. Jackson has become such a fish this summer and loves the pool. He was no different with the ocean. A major storm headed in right after we arrived so, after Lee and Jack swam for just a little bit we headed to our hotel and watched the storm over the ocean. Monday - Lee had to work a few hours - but Jack and I headed back to the beach and had a great time!! He was such a joy to watch!! Had everyone cracking up attacking the waves and getting knocked down. He would get right up and attack the next wave that headed his way.
I think we will be trying many more NC beaches in the future. Next stop...The Outer Banks. Maybe???
