The Grumpiness of Jack

I know that we are nearing the threshold of the "terrible twos" and that sometimes kids just don't feel well and it's ok for them to be moody but - my goodness - my Jack is Grumpy with a capital G. It's like it happened overnight and I cannot for the life of me explain why. He is not napping well at all and is, therefore, incredibly cranky in the afternoon (and lately in the mornings also - I think all that lack of sleep is catching up with him). We have had some incredibly long afternoons where all Jack and I do is butt heads (is that the correct spelling for that??). It seems like EVERYTHING sets him off into a tantrum - changing diapers, changing clothes, giving him a toy, taking a toy away, putting him down, picking him up - and the list goes on and on and on.

Anyways, all this is to ask for some prayers for Jack to start feeling better and for me to readjust my attitude and continue to be patient with my little guy. After all, it's got to be hard being almost 20 months.

We will definitely pray. It seems like when they get out of their ordinary temperments, they want us to stay on our toes. Guess it is part of the learning process, but a very HARD one.

Gabriel had a week like that when he was a little older than Jackson. I wanted to crawl into a hole and sleep for a very long time. Turns out, he had an ear infection. I was like, "Just once, could you have pointed at your ear and given me even the slightest of clues!?!" 24 hours of antibiotics and I had my sweet little boy back:-) Here's hoping the solution is that simple!
