So thankful...

Once again, long time - no post. I have just been reallybusy lately and not finding any extra time to get on here. My goal is to post once a week with some cute pictures or something cute Jack has done - for everyone reading the blog and as a way for me to keep up and remember everything he does. I also keep a little journal that I will one day give to Jackson. In it I write cute things he has done or said and tell him how thankful we are that God let us have him. You know, stuff that probably wont mean anything until he has kids of his own but stuff I would forget about if I didnt write it down.

We traveled to Papa and Mimi's and Grandpa's for Thanksgiving. Lots of traveling and Lee got a stomach bug so our Thanksgiving meal was put off until Friday so Lee could recover. Jack had a wonderful time, nonetheless. He always has a great time visiting his grandparents. Jack had a great time in a pile of leaves Papa had raked earlier in the week - he could have spent all day in the leaves. We took some lollipop pictures hoping to make them Christmas card pictures but they didnt quite turn out how I wanted them so we used an older picture - Jackson REALLY enjoyed the lollipop, though. And, of course, we visited the goats and chickens and ducks at Grandpa's house.

This year, I really realized how much I have to be thankful for. I truly feel that I am thankful just because I have things to be thankful for. We were saying our prayers with Jack one night and talking to him about thanking God for everything he had - well that turned into him being thankful for pajamas, his blankie, his bear, his doggie, diapers - you get the picture. But it made me stop and think - there are little boys and girls that go to bed at night without nice warm jammies or bears and doggies to cuddle with. There are babies who dont always have clean diapers. There are little ones who don't have a big thanksgiving dinner to look forward to- who don't have any big meal to look forward to. It really stopped me in my tracks. I am so in awe of our God who has blessed Lee and I with so much - way beyone what we deserve. We need to share His love and the resources He has given us with those around us. Now, we are facing a pretty difficult financial time right now (more on that later) but I know that God will use what we are going through to bring Him glory. That's what it's all about. So, I am thankful that I can be thankful. This year, it wasn't about the turkey or the stuffing or the pie (even though that was all awesome). It was about realizing everything we do have (instead of what we don't) and desiring to spend each and every day worshipping and glorifying God with my life.
