He received a ton of wonderful gifts and had a great time opening them up Christmas morning. He was a little timid at first - ripping off tiny little pieces of wrapping paper and handing each little scrap to me to throw away - but was soon into the unwrapping thing full force. My parents, Lee's dad and brother, PJ, and his fiance, Miranda, spent Christmas Eve with us and joined in the festivities Christmas morning. Lee's best friend, Greg, and his wife, Melanie, also joined us for dinner Christmas Eve and Christmas day (although Greg and Mel were subjected to the family sing along with Jack's new musical instruments so I'm not sure they'll be back).
Mimi and Papa got Jack a recorder - or horn as Jack calls it, and some other cool musical instruments. He loves those and we now wake up most mornings to his wonderful horn playing. Grandpa got Jackson a table and chairs, which has already gotten a ton of use. We use it inside to color and read books and then take it outside (it's very light) to eat our picnics. Lee has been working a firework stand with some guys from church in the evenings this week so Jackson and I have eaten most lunches and dinners outside. No matter how cold it is.
This is Jack eating a picnic lunch at his new table. Notice the John Deere hat. This was Lee's favorite gift to Jackson from my sister and her husband. Thanks Lisa and John. Jackson LOVES this hat and wears it everywhere. He has learned how to put it on backwards also and really looks like a redneck then.
Lee got Jack his first ball and glove. Jack wasn't too into the game of catch at first but loves to play catch with Daddy now.
We got Jack a turtle sandbox. He jumped right in there - jammies and all.
This was actually my mom's gift to my dad but she ordered it from our Lowes so she didnt have to haul it up here and ruin the surprise. Jackson spent a lot of his Christmas Eve riding in Papa's wheelbarrow.
Jackson also got a sin n spin (remember those??). He does pretty well on it but I cant get a good picture of him on it cause he is spinning so much. He really likes the music it plays - and spent a good part of yesterday just pushing the buttons to make the music go.
It really was neat to see him enjoy Christmas this year. We took him around several neighborhoods to look at lights (which were few and far between this year). He really enjoyed looking at those huge blow up Christmas things people put in their front yards. He now knows Santa Claus so next year should be interesting and fun.
