Did I mention that Jack got a bike (big wheel) from Papa and Mimi? He is still in love with his bike and has now taken to riding it all over our neighborhood. It's really cute to see him push his bike along without using the pedals - he hasn't quite figured the pedal thing out yet. When I say the whole neighborhood I mean our whole neighborhood - sometimes we do 2 trips around. He is really good with steering and turning the bike - the first time we went out he zoomed down our driveway with me running behind him screaming "Stop before you get to the street!!". Talk about a heart attack (we live on the main road and cars just about ignore the 25 mph speed limit). But he did great and turned right onto the sidewalk (on just two wheels) and kept going. We rode all over the neighborhood until our 3rd trip up and down a slightly hilly street where he stopped, got off his bike and said "Hold me Mommy. Go Home." I ended up carrying Jack and the bike home.
Jackson has always been somewhat of an early riser - we are usually up by 7:00 or 7:30. It's fine on the weekdays - it means an earlier bedtime for him and more time for Lee and I to spend together. Lee is not always so happy with it on the weekends when he would like to get a little sleep. But what can you do??
One major advantage of the early rising is that Jackson and I have enjoyed several beautiful sunrises together. You know the kind of sunrise where the sky is purple, pink, orange and yellow and has those awesome clouds all mixed in? He loves it and always asks for "more more more" when it is all done.
