We visited my parents (Mimi and Papa) and Lee's dad (Grandpa or Bapa as Jack calls him) this weekend and had a great trip. We literally have to go over the river and through the woods to get to both their houses and I spent about the last 30 minutes of our trip down singing "over the river and through the woods to Mimi's and Papa's house we go". The trip down took about 3 hours (almost 1 hour longer than normal) and Jackson was getting a little car seat crazy. My singing kept him entertained until the point when we could excitedly say, "We are almost to Mimi and Papa's house!!".
Mom picked up a Big Wheel from a consignment shop a few weeks before we came down ( I told them to pass on getting him one for his birthday this year b/c I thought he was too small - boy was I wrong). He spotted that thing and all we heard all weekend was "Bike!!" and off he went. He rode that bike all over their house, woke up early and jumped right on and probably went to bed saying "bike".
Here's a picture of Jackson and his "Bike!!!". He loved it so much he wanted to try to put it up on the couch so he could sit next to Lee but not too far from his bike.
Turtles...this is Jackson on his bike staring intently at a wooden turtle my parents have. He stayed here for several minutes. Turtles are also a huge facsination of his.
Grandpa's house and the tractor. Jackson had all the loves of his life around this weekend. Grandparents, bikes, turtles and tractors. Lee and Jack actually got quite a bit of grass cut at Grandpa's house.
Goats, chickens and ducks...oh my!! Yep, you are not seeing things - that is a goat following Lee, Grandpa and Jackson. Lee's dad has a beautiful new home on several acres out in the country close to the Edisto River. His neighbors are wonderful people (the husband went to high school with Lee) and they raise goats, chickens, roosters, ducks. We HAD to pay a visit to them so Jack could see the animals and I could see the couple's 3 month old twin girls. The goat's name is Rocky and is a very sweet animal. Jackson had a great time with the animals and Lee had a great time planning his next hunting trip with the neighbors.

I am so glad that you guys had a fun time. Also glad that you could go to a nice dinner too.
Jack looks like he is having such a fun time. I am sure he was in heaven with the tractor, the bike, and the animals. What more could a 2-year-old boy ask for?!
