FOUR!!!

Yesterday was a big day in the Woodham house - Jackson turned 4!!! We woke him up (or actually got him out of bed) singing "Happy Birthday" (me, Lee and Jacob). He obviously gets his morning moodiness from me - he did not like the singing at all (I'm sure it had nothing to do with the singing) and was grumpy until he got downstairs.

I got to join him for his birthday snack at school where his classmates sang another "Happy Birthday" to him and he got to wear a birthday crown. He actually didn't take the crown off all day b/c he still had it on when I picked him up from school.

Then, Grandpa and Papa arrived from SC for a special family birthday party - including ice cream cake at 7:00 at night. Needless to say the boy didnt go to sleep until after 9:00. I wo uld say he had a great day.

It still amazes me how quickly we went from this...

to this...

(this is the best recent picture I could find of Jack's actual entire face - without hands blocking the view or a goofy smile. He is the one in the middle.)
I am so thankful for each and every day I have gotten to spend with this amazing boy. He brings so much joy to our life - his smile makes us smile, his laugh makes us laugh and his tears still break our hearts. Each night we pray that he will always be surrounded by people who love God and love him. We have been so blessed by God in this area and I can see what a huge difference it is making in Jackson's life.
In four short years, he has made our lives so much fuller and richer. He has brought us more joy than we thought possible. He loves life and loves those around him with such a sweet, gentle heart. I am so proud of him and so thankful to be called his mommy. There is no greater job in the world.
Happy birthday, Jackson!!!

Happy Birthday to Jackson. I can't believe that you are 4. Where did the time go? We love you so much and miss getting to see you, but know that God is watching over you and giving you lots of joy. You are probably the best brother ever to baby Jacob.
